Meet Yogita - Our Cashew Entrepreneur

Here is the story of Yogita Gaikwad from Koste village in Mangaon, Raigad. She lost her husband in an accident and it was upon her to look after the family and kids. She was earning a meagre income of INR 5000 by odd jobs and was barely making ends meet.

Her life was transformed after she took up cashew processing with KAC. She procured the machinery on loan and convinced a few other women to join her. They now successfully process about 2 tonnes every month and she makes an income of INR 25,000. She is happy and proud - not just her needs are being met but she is also able to provide employment to a few other women.
